PASTOR CHRISTINA SCHULTZ

Pastor Christina Schultz joined Faith Lutheran in July of 2023.  She was ordained as a Pastor
in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) in June of 2023.  Being a Pastor is NOT
Pastor Christina’s first career.  She started as an Industrial and Operations Engineer, graduating
from the University of Michigan (Go Blue!). After working as an engineer for a few years,
she stopped to take care of her young children and to pursue music ministry leadership at a couple
of ELCA churches.

In 2009, Christina started a business (www.embracedincomfort.com) as a response to a need she saw in her children.  Her children both wore Scoliosis back braces at a young age, and she noticed a lack of comfortable and functional undergarments specifically designed for braces.  One patent and 15 years later, she still oversees this business, which ships products to businesses and individuals all over the world.  (She has two fabulous team members who manage the day-to-day operations)

Pastor Christina brings a lot of her engineering and business experience into the day-to-day operations of church management, but what she loves most is preaching and teaching the gospel.  Her greatest passions are social justice issues, with a special passion for expressing Christ’s love for the LGBTQIA+ community.  She also loves to uplift the roles of women in scripture.

When she is not working, Pastor Christina loves to play music - violin, piano, and singing - and she loves to participate in community theater.  She also enjoys swimming, yoga, and martial arts.  She resides in Saginaw with her two cats and enjoys occasional visits from her two young adult children.

She has a Bachelor of Music in Music Education (vocal) from Oakland University and a Master of Arts in Special Ministries (spirituality) from the Methodist Theological School in Ohio. She is an avid rockhound and can often be found on the beaches of our Great Lakes in the warmer months.
